Not much to say

I do not have much to write about this week, but I have been bit by the guilty bug for not blogging in a week. So here goes the uneventful update.....

Kirsten is loving ballet and preschool. She dressed up today in her dance clothes and was begging to go again. She has learned first position, and now knows her right from her left. She just twirls around all day long, and is totally adorable while doing it. She loves her school. Tuesday we were running a little late and she told me "Hurry, go faster mommy, my friends are all missing me so much!" She is such the little social butterfly now. She has dance on Monday, Preschool on Tuesday and Thursday, and standing weekly playdates on Wednesday and Friday mornings. Her social life sure keeps me busy.

Jeremy was released this past week as the Ward Clerk over Finance. He has been serving for two years, and we are looking forward to having family time on Sundays now. He is loving his Game Programming class. Can homework for that actually be considered work?....

I am staying busy teaching lessons. I teach 12 Trumpet lessons at the middle school while Kirsten is in preschool, and then I have 21 piano kids at home in the afternoon. It is a larger load then I really wanted, but I enjoy it too much to turn anyone away! Other than that, life just seems to fly by everyday without too much variance, but I guess that is the way we prefer it.

Funny Kid

Upon getting out of the car at Target tonight.....

Kirsten: "Mommy, the moon is really hungry tonight."
Laura: "Really, what makes you say that?"
Kirsten: "It's not full yet."

Dancing Queen

Today was Kirsten's first day of dance class. She absolutely loved it. I tried to get some pictures at the studio, but she kept twirling.
I tried again when we got home to get pictures, but finally settled for a video. I went jogging while she was in class and when I came around the corner, her class was already out front waiting. She came running up to me and jumped into my arms and exclaimed "that was sooooo fun. We have to do it again!" She wore her dance clothes the rest of the day and would not hold still. She is quite the little dancer. She lost a stick today at Preschool for dancing all over the classroom. I have to say that I am a proud mama, I started dance when I was two and have been dying for her to start. I could not be happier that she loves it so much. I hope you enjoy the videos!

First Day of Preschool

Kirsten started Preschool today!!! She came bouncing into our room this morning at 6:30 exclaiming "Wake up, Wake up! It's my first day of school. We have to pack my lunch!" She is attending Redeemer Day School at the Presbyterian Church about 3 blocks from our house. She had no problems walking right in and playing with her new friends. I on the other hand lingered outside her door for about 10 minutes toiling over leaving my baby at SCHOOL! I eventually had to leave solely because I had to go to work. When I picked Kirsten up she did not want to come home. She hid from me and and jumped into her teacher's arms. I had to promise and pinky swear that she would get to come back on Thursday. Her progress report from her teacher stated that she was happy, friendly, sweet and curious. She is definitely her father's daughter on that one.

I had about an hour of free time today between lessons and was able to come home. That is one of the many advantages to having switched schools this year to the middle school down the street. I hardly knew what to do all by myself and ended up cleaning the house. It was actually nice to clean without a 3 year old tornado behind me trying to help. I decided that we should require all 3 year olds to go to preschool so that their moms can regain what little remains of their sanity! It was a big day for all of us, but Kirsten sure handled it like a big girl.
I started teaching Megan, my sister-in-law, piano lessons today. She is such a sweetheart and so fun. Kirsten sure loved having her Grandma Alleman come up and play barbies with her during Megan's lessons. This will be a fun weekly treat for her.
