Week of Parties!

We had a week of partying this week! Tuesday was my birthday and Wednesday was Jeremy's. On Tuesday, Jeremy's mom and sister came up and watched Kirsten so we could go out to dinner. I had made a cake for Jeremy to take to work the next day, but since his mom and sister were here, we went ahead and cut into it. Wednesday, we got up early and made Jeremy the Alleman traditional pancake with a candle. (I actually did not know this was an Alleman family tradition until a few months ago when one of my sister-in-laws blogged about it!) Thank goodness for blogs so we can keep these traditions going! Wednesday night he was supposed to go to school, but everyone else in his group was sick, so we got him home for the night. We were so excited! Wednesday during the day, I taught a bread making class for our ward. It was so much fun to be able to share what I have learned over the past few years.

On Thursday I went to Holly's house and she helped me do my first scrapbooking pages ever! It was so fun and not nearly as hard as I thought it would be.

Saturday was Kirsten's first primary activity. They played fitness games and ended with a healthy snack. Jeremy went with her since he is her Sunbeam teacher. She came home and was so excited that she got to "exercise like mommy". I thoroughly enjoyed having two hours at home alone to work on scrapbooking!
Why is she always surrounded by boys?!

Too Cute
After the primary activity, we crammed some lunch into her, gave her a bath (she stank pretty badly) and ran off to the coolest birthday party ever. Her friends, Madelyn and Macy, were having their 4th birthday party at this place called Sweet and Sassy (I think). Anyway, all they do is girly girl parties. They dressed them up like princesses, fixed their hair, put on make up and painted their nails. They did princess crafts, and topped it off with a fashion show on thier hot pink runway! She is convinced that she has to have her birthday party there.

(and no, I do not know where those hot pink Fancy Nancy glasses came from!)
Last Monday, my step-mother's mother passed away. I regret that I did not have the time to get to know her better. The first time I met Marcia was in the Los Angeles Temple. I could not help but instantly love her then and know that she was a beautiful person both inside and out. We will miss her and ask for your prayers of comfort for Patty and her family.
Today Jeremy's dad was called as our new Stake President. We know that he will do a wonderful job as he seeks the Lord's guidance and direction in his new responsibilities. It was very humbling to be with the family today as he was set apart. I am so grateful to be part of two wonderful families, Jeremy's and mine.
That about sums up our crazy week. This week will be another busy one. My students have TAKS tests, so the school schedule is all messed up. Kirsten and I fly out Thursday to spend a few days with my mom and did I mention, Jeremy only has two weeks of classes left!!!!
