We had a wonderful time at Disneyland. We went on Thursday and Friday. Thursday we got there right when the park opened. Mickey, Pluto, Minnie, Donald, Chip n Dale, and Goofy were all in the main street square. We were able to line hop and get all those characters in right away. We hit almost every single ride in the park. Kirsten's favorite was It's a Small World. She had watched the planning DVD so many times that she knew what she wanted to go on. After every ride she would ask "Can we go on the pirates now?" So we finally went on Pirates of the Caribbean after Lunch, and guess what? She never asked again. I don't think she liked it very much. She went on the Matterhorn, the Haunted House and Splash Mountain. She loved being able to meet Winnie the Pooh. My Aunt Verlanne came and met us for a few hours in the afternoon and got soaked on Splash Mountain with us. I was a little worried about the drop since Kirsten had to be in her own seat, but she did great!
Thursdsay night we had dinner at Ariel's Grotto. Each of the princesses come to your table and spend time with you individually. The prince had come out and was teaching the girls to dance like princesses when Jasmine arrived at our table. So she stayed and spent about 10 minutes dancing with Kirsten. I think that she was on cloud nine dancing with Jasmine! I made the reservations months ago, and it was well worth it to be able to have time with each of them!
Friday morning we spent some time back at the main Disneyland park to meet Tinker Bell and to hit a few rides that we missed. Then we headed over to California Adventure. Kirsten particularly love Soarin' over California where it feels like you are hang gliding. This park is fairly new and they have all of the Pixar rides, like Bug's Life, Monsters Inc, Cars, and Toy Story. We were also able to see the Aladdin Musical, which was breathtaking. The day topped off with a Pixar Toy Parade. My Aunt Verlanne and Uncle Johnny came and met us for dinner, and then we attempted to see the fireworks, but Kirsten fell asleep on Jeremy.
We had such a great time. I have to ask though, why she always had to go to the bathroom right before we got to the front of the lines? They are so kind and understanding though and would let one of us wait and the other take her and come back up the exit. I think that this was the perfect age to take Kirsten to Disneyland. She was tall enough to go on almost everything, and it is all still magical at this age. The picture of her meeting Winnie the Pooh says it all. She loved every minute of it, especially meeting the characters. We are already planning our next trip!
I sorted through hundreds of pictures and made a slide show. Enjoy!
