Katie the Cute

Katie is 2 years old in every sense of the word.  She can be such a handful, but completely sweet as well.  She is talking so much and it seems that being able to communicate is helping to curb some of the tantrums.

One of her favorite things to do is to go shopping.  She gets so excited every time I say we are going.  Sometimes if we are having a particularly hard day, we will go shopping and just walk around and get a cookie.
She is also my little dancer.  We are still doing her dance class every week, and she loves it.  They do ballet for 30 minutes and then tumbling for 15.  Each week the teacher lines them up on the mirrored wall and then drops the mat, they think it is so funny!

Before Kirsten's Red Rhythm performance, Katie went out on the gym floor in her leotard and entertained the crowd.  She is definitely not shy!
Katie is also completely obsessed with Disney Princesses.  It came on fast and hard in the past few weeks.  Cinderella is her absolute favorite, although she loves all of them.  The important thing lately has been to learn her Princess lingo.

Lella = Cinderella
Sleeping Lella = Sleeping Beauty
Lellabell = Belle
Fish = Ariel (Little Mermaid)
Snowman = Snow White
Punzel = Rapunzel

She started calling Snow White "snowman" a few days ago.  Then tonight we were watching Frosty the Snowman and she got really mad because the snowman was not a princess.  She hardly ever wears actual clothes, she is typically dressed up in her ballet clothes or as a princess.  She likes to watch princess movies and dress up in the corresponding costume.  She is definitely entertaining!

She is also in the middle of potty training.  She has good days and bad days, but we are making it.  She actually really like pull ups, which is strange to me because Kirsten hated them and only ever wore two of them.

Three weeks ago we also converted her crib to a toddler bed.
 She thinks that it is the coolest thing ever.  The transition has actually gone really well and other than the first night where she was really excited, she stays in her bed.  She even calls for us in the morning and waits for us to come and get her.
 Katie is also able to sing her ABC's and count to 15.  She loves to color and read, and always has about 10 books in her bed with her.  She does everything her big sister does, and we are lucky that Kirsten loves to play with her.  She is such a sweetheart and we are so blessed to have her as part of our family.

I cannot wait to see Katie again in a few short weeks--she changes so much in between each time that I see her. I am so thankful for your Blog and that you are so good about keeping it current. Love, MOM
